The UK Maritime Trade Operations reported that an oil tanker was attacked without warning at approximately 16:20 local time in the Gulf of Oman.
The incident is believed to involve forces linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, with the vessel struck around 20 miles off the northeastern coast near the Strait of Hormuz.
The attack highlights rising maritime tensions in one of the world’s most critical shipping corridors, as security risks continue to escalate in the region.
