Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of repeatedly targeting Ukraineβs energy infrastructure, reporting 76 attacks on energy, oil and gas facilities over the past week despite US President Donald Trumpβs push for an energy ceasefire.
Zelenskyy said recent strikes damaged energy substations in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa regions, raising concerns over Ukraineβs ability to protect critical infrastructure as winter approaches.
The dispute follows Trumpβs announcement of a proposed halt to attacks on energy facilities, which neither Kyiv nor Moscow has formally confirmed as a jointly agreed ceasefire.
The latest accusations come as Ukraine expands its drone campaign against Russian oil infrastructure, including attacks on facilities in St. Petersburg that triggered fires on October 18.
With both sides continuing to target strategic infrastructure, the prospects for an effective energy truce remain uncertain.
