Panic as AK-47โ€“Wielding Thugs Raid Shop, Brandish Panga Before Hostages Break Free and Raise Alarm

Residents and business owners were thrown into panic after a group of armed thugs stormed a retail shop in a daring daytime raid, briefly holding occupants hostage before the victims managed to escape and alert the public.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects believed to be at least three arrived at the premises posing as customers before suddenly drawing an AK-47 rifle and a panga , ordering everyone inside to lie down. The attackers reportedly locked the shop door from inside, threatening violence as they demanded cash and valuables.

Shoppers and attendants were left terrified as the gang ransacked the premises, warning anyone against making noise or attempting to flee. However, in a moment of bravery and confusion among the suspects, one of the hostages managed to force open a rear exit, allowing several people to escape.

The escapees raised an alarm, drawing the attention of members of the public and nearby traders. The sudden commotion caused the armed men to flee the scene before completing the robbery.

Police officers arrived shortly after and launched a manhunt for the suspects, who are believed to have escaped on foot or using a waiting motorcycle. No fatalities were reported, though several victims were left shaken by the ordeal.

Authorities have since urged business owners to enhance security measures and encouraged members of the public to report suspicious activity promptly. Investigations are ongoing, with police reviewing CCTV footage from nearby buildings to identify and apprehend the attackers.
