U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed reports of internal disagreement within the Pentagon over potential military action against Iran, insisting that if war were to break out, the United States would prevail โeasily.โ
Trump was responding to a report by The Wall Street Journal suggesting concerns within the Department of Defense about operational risks and force readiness. The president stressed that he holds ultimate decision-making authority, adding that while he prefers a diplomatic deal, Iran would face โvery bad daysโ if it fails to agree within a 15-day deadline he previously outlined.
Separately, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff revealed he had been directed to meet Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iranโs former shah a move widely interpreted as signaling potential U.S. openness to political change in Tehran.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, with military deployments and diplomatic warnings heightening concerns of possible confrontation.
