More properties linked to the late businessman Apollo Nyegamehe (Aponye) are set to be sold nearly three years after his death. In a notice published on February 3, 2026, lawyers gave the estate 30 days to clear outstanding debts or risk losing key assets.
The properties earmarked include houses, warehouses, and land in areas such as Lower Naguru, Nalukolongo, Makindye, Masaka, and Mubende. Aponye reportedly owed about Shs 38 billion at the time of his death, with banks already moving to recover their money.
Some assets, including his city mall near the Old Taxi Park and Aponye Complex in Ntinda, have already changed hands.
Aponye died in a road accident in July 2023 along the MbararaโKabale highway.
