Detectives in Murangโa County are investigating the murder of a 34-year-old man whose body was found dumped in a maize plantation in Kabati area. The victim, identified as Kennedy Njoroge, had multiple stab wounds to the head, abdomen, and neck. Police said a suspected murder weapon was recovered nearby.
A note found next to the body alleged that the victim was a habitual thief in the area and warned that more suspects were being targeted. The motive behind the killing remains unclear. The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.
In a separate incident in Kiambu Town, a man escaped unhurt after his Mercedes Benz saloon car caught fire near Kiambu High School. The vehicle was completely destroyed.
Elsewhere in Ntimaru, Migori County, suspected thieves vandalised a four-wheel drive vehicle belonging to Angata Sugar Mills, pouring salt into its engine. The incident comes amid ongoing insecurity in the area, which is currently under a dusk-to-dawn curfew due to deadly tribal clashes.
