Here Is How Formal Workers In Kenya Earn According To KNBS Data

Treasury CS John Mbadi has delayed plans to reduce PAYE tax. Workers earning below Sh50,000 will not get relief for now.

The change will be pushed to the Finance Bill 2026, leaving many Kenyans with less money in their payslips.

Meanwhile, Here is how formal workers in Kenya earn according to KNBS data:

β€” 398,000 earn above Sh100,000 per month
β€” 1.5 million earn between Sh50,000–99,000
β€” 1 million earn Sh30,000–49,999
β€” 104,000 earn Sh20,000–29,999
β€” 37,000 earn below Sh19,999
