Good News To Police Officers And NYS

The Ministry of Interior has announced a salary increase for Kenya Police, Prisons, and NYS officers effective July 2026.
Key changes include:

  • Police constables will now earn up to Ksh 57,700, up from Ksh 38,975 (a 48% increase).
  • New police recruits will start at Ksh 29,296, up from Ksh 20,390 (a 44% increase).
  • NYS officers in the lowest cadre will earn between Ksh 26,222 and Ksh 37,912.
  • The highest-paid police officer will now earn up to Ksh 345,850 (a 20% increase).
  • Senior Prisons officers will earn between Ksh 301,548 and Ksh 584,903.
