When my brother, the late Nderitu Gachagua, passed away, Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga personally came to condole with our family. His compassion during that difficult time is something I will never forget. It pains me deeply that I could not attend Raila Odinga’s State Funeral at Nyayo Stadium and his burial in Bondo. The genuine fear of humiliation and possible attack, made it unsafe for me to be present. I have since spoken to Mama Ida Odinga and informed her of my intention to travel to Bondo to pay my respects at Raila Odinga’s grave. Only then will my heart truly find peace.
