Update: Bangladesh Supreme Court abolishes job quotas that led to mass protests resulting in 114 deaths and opens 93% of government jobs to merit-based candidates.

The protests have been steadily growing since last month after a lower court order reinstated a controversial quotas system reserving up to 30% of government jobs for relatives of veterans who fought in the War of Independence in 1971 against Pakistan.
