The death toll from Russiaβs massive missile and drone assault across Ukraine has risen to at least 28, with dozens more wounded as rescue operations continue.
Pryluky in Chernihiv region suffered the heaviest losses after a Russian missile destroyed sections of a five-story apartment building, killing 20 people, including five children.
Rescue teams have pulled survivors from the rubble and continue searching the damaged building as emergency operations remain underway.
Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Dnipro and other regions were also hit, with residential buildings, industrial facilities and energy infrastructure damaged.
Ukraine said Russia launched around 70 missiles, many of them ballistic, along with dozens of attack drones during the overnight barrage.
Russia said its strikes targeted Ukrainian military-industrial facilities and other military-related infrastructure.
