Feeding Timetable For Layers Chicken

Here is a feeding timetable for layer chickens from day-old to laying period (0–20 weeks)

Phase 1: Chick Starter (0–6 weeks)

Starter feed (Chick mash), 12–15g per chick — 7:00 AM

Clean drinking water with vitamins (e.g., Vitalyte) — 7:30 AM

Starter feed (repeat feeding), 12–15g per chick — 12:00 PM

Clean water (replace if dirty) — 1:00 PM

Starter feed again, 10–12g per chick — 5:00 PM

Clean water overnight with glucose or vitamins (optional) — Night


Phase 2: Grower Phase (7–16 weeks)

Grower mash, 40–60g per bird — 7:00 AM

Clean drinking water — 7:30 AM

Grower mash, 40–60g per bird — 1:00 PM

Clean water (check and top up) — 2:00 PM

Grower mash (optional 3rd feeding if needed) — 5:00 PM

Access to clean water overnight — Night


Phase 3: Pre-Lay to Laying Period (17–20+ weeks)

Layers mash, 90–120g per bird — 7:00 AM

Clean water with calcium or multivitamins — 7:30 AM

Layers mash (2nd serving if needed) — 1:00 PM

Water check and refill — 2:00 PM

Grits or oyster shell (for calcium boost) — 4:00 PM

Layers mash (optional feeding) — 6:00 PM

Water access overnight — Night.
