We were told that if Raila becomes president, Kikuyus will wear shorts.
We were told that if Raila Odinga becomes president, he’ll take away our land.
For decades, we have lived hating Baba Raila Odinga, not on our own volition, but by the demonisation induced in us from childhood by those who came before us.
Despite the sacrifices Baba made, including fighting for the democracy we enjoy today, we overlooked it and focused on what we were taught.
Now that Baba is gone forever, who’ll be the next bogeyman to be used by Mt Kenya politicians to seek votes?
Trust me, people in Mt Kenya never used to vote based on agenda—they were just voting against Raila Odinga.
