China’s Long March 7A rocket exploded shortly after lifting off from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan, destroying the satellite it was carrying.

Chinese state media reported that the incident is under investigation. The failure marks the first reported mission failure for the Long March 7A rocket since its debut.
