TV47 has claimed that Prophet David Owuor’s Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has threatened to sue the media house following the airing of an explosive documentary exposing alleged fake HIV/AIDS healings.
In a detailed exposé, the station revealed how some of the prophet’s followers allegedly presented forged medical documents from various hospitals.
The documents were reportedly altered to show that individuals who had once tested HIV-positive later turned negative after claiming to have been “healed” during prayer services
According to TV47, members of Prophet Owuor’s legal team visited the station’s headquarters on Thursday in an attempt to block the documentary from being aired.
However, the media house declined to bow to the pressure and proceeded to broadcast the programme as scheduled.
The documentary, which aired on Sunday night, featured testimonies and medical records that raised serious questions about the authenticity of the alleged healings.
Medical experts interviewed in the programme also warned against misleading claims that could endanger lives, especially among vulnerable patients living with HIV.
Following the exposé, Prophet Owuor’s followers took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where they launched several hashtags in defense of their leader.
