A senior journalist operating a private media company in Tanzania has reported the ongoing detention of foreign nationals in undisclosed facilities inside the country. The journalist, who requested anonymity for safety reasons, said he was arrested last week and taken to what he described as a โblack siteโ rather than an official police station.
He stated that more than 80 Kenyans were being held at the same location, along with about 50 Ugandans and several Rwandans. According to his account, at least a dozen Kenyans have died under torture. He said the bodies were removed from the facility and taken for incineration, alongside those of several Tanzanians who also died in custody.
The detainees, he said, included university students and small business operators. Many reportedly asked that if anyone managed to secure release, they should inform any Kenyan YouTube channel to ensure their situation becomes public.
