Principal Magistrate Rose Ndombi on Tuesday ordered that former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu must deposit a Ksh 53 million bank guarantee before he can be released on bond in his offensive conduct case, while his existing bond conditions in the hate speech case remain in force.

The next hearing is scheduled for January 15, 2026, following the High Court’s earlier denial of his application to substitute the bank guarantee with a cash deposit, with the judge emphasizing strict compliance with the bond terms.
