JUST IN: Court Challenge On Raila Odinga Burial Timeline

A Kenyan citizen has moved to court to challenge the reported plan to bury former Prime Minister Raila Odinga within 72 hours of his body arriving in the country.

The speed of the funeral arrangements, which family sources say is in line with the late Odinga’s final wish, has now become a matter of legal debate. The petitioner argues that a figure of his national stature deserves a longer period of national mourning and public engagement.
This legal move comes as the nation grapples with grief, and the National Funeral Committee works to finalize the State Funeral program, which currently culminates in the burial on Sunday (which respects the 72-hour window from arrival).

What are your thoughts on this court challenge? Should a leader of Raila Odinga’s magnitude be interred so quickly, or should the family and State honor his personal wishes?
