A shocking domestic violence case occurred in New Delhi, India, where a woman allegedly poured boiling oil on her sleeping husband, Dinesh Kumar.

The attack took place at around 3:15 a.m. with their eight-year-old daughter reportedly present. Dinesh suffered severe burns on his face and torso, and the wife reportedly sprinkled red chili powder on the burns, threatening, “If you shout, I will pour more oil on you.”

Neighbors heard the cries and alerted others, but the wife initially locked the door, delaying help. Dinesh was rushed to the hospital and treated for dangerous injuries. The couple had a troubled eight-year marriage, with previous police complaints filed by the wife.
