MURDER OF A POLICE OFFICER – EMBAKASI

The National Police Service mourns the tragic loss of PC Nahson Katumo of GSU Mike Company, who was killed on the evening of 12th October 2025 in an incident near Mwenje Resort and Restaurant, along Mombasa Road.

Preliminary reports indicate that the officer was attacked by a member of the public following an altercation over an unknown cause. The officer was overpowered and later found submerged in a nearby trench, with visible head and facial injuries.

Police swiftly responded to the scene, where the suspect was arrested, and the officer’s service rifle recovered. The scene was processed by DCI Embakasi and other senior officers. The suspect, who also sustained injuries, was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment as investigations continue.

The body of the deceased officer was moved to Kenyatta University Mortuary pending postmortem examination.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of PC Katumo, who lost his life in the line of duty.
