BREAKING: Chaos erupted in Huntington Beach, California Saturday afternoon when a helicopter spiraled out of control and crashed into a row of palm trees — narrowly missing pedestrians on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Witness videos show the chopper spinning violently in midair before slamming down near the beach bridge crossing, just steps from the Hyatt Regency and Waterfront Resort.
One man who barely escaped death wrote on social media:
“I was literally underneath the helicopter as it crashed. My life flashed before my eyes.”
The Huntington Beach Fire Department confirmed five people were hospitalized — two from the helicopter and three pedestrians hit by debris. Their conditions remain unknown.
The helicopter was reportedly part of the “Cars ’N Copters” charity event scheduled for Sunday — an event that draws crowds of families, luxury car enthusiasts, and first responders.
Locals say it’s a miracle no one was killed. The NTSB and FAA are now investigating the cause of the crash.
