Poverty is not just about money — it’s about mindset and behavior. Indeed you will realise that poverty isn’t just a condition — it’s a collection of habits you refuse to break
I agree with Giste Wa Kabiro that Most people stay poor not because they lack opportunities, but because of the habits they keep. Poverty is not just about money — it’s about mindset and behavior.
Some of us sleep like goats, spending 10 hours in bed, scrolling on our phones till 1 AM, and waking up at 10 AM. The truth is, rich people hunt in the mornings while the broke keep dreaming as bills pile up.
Then there’s cheap dopamine addiction — movies, gossip, TikTok dances, and pornography. Every moment of shallow pleasure robs you of focus and deep work. Poverty thrives on those who crave cheap entertainment.
We also fall into status spending — buying iPhones, wigs, sneakers, and “soft life” we can’t afford. The broke finance lifestyle; the rich finance assets. That’s a lesson my billionaire mentor drilled into me.
And then there’s the Blame Olympics. People blame the government, the economy, even their village enemies. But excuses, no matter how wise they sound, build nothing. Taking responsibility is the entry fee to wealth.
Too many people are stuck in their comfort circles, surrounded by friends who celebrate vibes instead of victories. Show me your circle, and I’ll predict your bank balance.
Others carry a freebie mentality — always hunting for free courses, free advice, and “urgent 2K.” But free keeps you average. Only when you invest something do you start to change.
Some fear selling — they want money but are too shy to pitch. Yet money only moves when sales happen. That “humility” is often just disguised poverty.
There are also the planners who never act. They fill notebooks with dreams but never execute. Wealth is built by finishers, not thinkers.
Depending on one income stream is another trap. One job, one hustle, one client — and when that fails, life collapses. The rich build layers; the broke build excuses.
And finally, the silent killer — addiction to betting, porn, and masturbation. It drains money, rewires your brain, and kills your drive. You can’t build wealth when your focus and energy are spent feeding lust and fantasy.
In the end, poverty isn’t just a condition — it’s a collection of habits you refuse to break.
Let’s do all we can to eradicate poverty……
Someone began his journey with 100 layers and today runs a farm with 2500 layers selling more than 2000 eggs daily at 13bob each…That translates to 26,000 ksh daily …780,000ksh monthly.!! And 9,360,000 yearly. (When you deduct the expenses you will realise the guy makes alot of money)
Yes yes it’s a journey of resilience beating poverty mentality day in day out.
