Why Panic Has Rocked Raila’s ODM Over Ruto’s Cabinet Slots

A wave of panic has rocked ODM after it emerged that some of the party’s stalwarts had reportedly accepted cabinet positions in President William Ruto’s government. The details emerged as influential party leaders and bigwigs continued to speak from different scripts and clashed over the formation of the Government of National Unity and national dialogue.

Some ODM linchpins recently started individual negotiations with the government after an initial deal between President Ruto and ODM boss Raila Odinga reportedly flopped last week.

The Star has established from multiple sources within the Kenya Kwanza government and within the ODM party that some of Raila’s key allies have accepted key slots in Ruto’s administration.
