She was the youngest Nairobi senatorial candidate in 2017 at the age of 23

Silantoi came into the oldest department, Ministry of Health(Health, Wellness and Nutrition executive) at 29 but is already transforming it

She has prioritised staff welfare, customer service and digitisation

Under her leadership, digitisation has helped raise revenue quite a bit. At the moment, health facilities that have user fees have generated about Sh1 billion this financial year, compared to the last financial year it was less than Sh800 million.

Under her docket, they are recruiting about 1,600, but ultimate goal is about 2,000 staff in the healthcare of Nairobi. Also at the moment, thry’ve partnered with the University of Nairobi so that the facilities can be teaching and referral facilities as well.

Further under her leadership, Nairobi started equipment placement in some of facilities where instead of buying equipment, they just have a vendor come and place their equipment into facility. They run the equipment. If they need to service it, they service it. But when users pay, they split the revenue.

Silantoi is working closely with Governor Sakaja Johnson to ensure health services in the city is working 24/7 with affordability, availability and closer to the residents.
