Update: Media Brief By AG. IG KANJA On Public Demonstrations

Acting Inspector General of Service, Mr. Douglas Kanja Kirocho has warned unauthorized persons to desist from accessing protected areas prescribed under the Protected Areas Act Cap 204 Laws of Kenya, among them, the LPG Plant, the Bitumen Plant and Petroleum depots situated at the Embakasi Aviation Depot (JKIA).

He was addressing the press on July 23, 2024 at NPS Headquarters, when he noted that Kenya has already witnessed enormous destruction of property, injury and loss of lives since the demonstrations by youths (Gen Z) that began last month were infiltrated by goons.

The Police Chief who was accompanied by the DCI Mr. Mohamed I. Amin, Ag. DIG-KPS, Mr. Eliud Lagat, Ag. DIG-KPS, Mr. James Kamau, also commended all NPS Officers for their dedication to duty. Mr. Kanja further urged members of public to remain vigilant in crowded areas, and share any information that may assist Police in crimed detection and prevention.
