This Is What Happened In Eldoret Town Today

Police in Eldoret on Wednesday stopped a group of youth who were demonstrating in support of former Roads CS Kipchumba Murkomen. The youth were moving with placards along Kisumu Road heading to the CBD before being stopped by the police. Police led by area OCPD Edward Masibo ordered the youth to turn back saying they had not been notified about the demos as required.

However, leaders of the youth were allowed to address a brief meeting before dispersing.

William Cherais, a leader of the youth, said they were fully in support of Murkomen’s re-appointment to the Cabinet.

“We urge the President to re-appoint Murkomen to the Cabinet because he had done a good job,” Cherais said.

The youth supported President William Ruto over his claim that the countrywide youth protests were being sponsored by some international organisations

After a few speeches by some of the youth leaders, the group dispersed before entering the town.

This comes a few days after a section of youth cut a cake in the town to celebrate his dismissal from Cabinet.
