RIP: Wildwood Icon Jack Morey Has Passed
The official announcement came through a press release from Morey’s Piers, which you can read in the article below. But first, I, Joey Contino, wanted to share some personal thoughts. Having worked at Morey’s Piers for over eight years, I had the privilege of knowing Jack Morey and the Morey family well. The phrase, “Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life,” must have been written with Jack in mind.
Jack’s passion, creativity, and dedication transformed Morey’s Piers into a cherished destination for countless families. His innovative vision brought new attractions and experiences that captivated visitors of all ages.
I was fortunate to witness Jack in his element on numerous projects, from the Ghost Ship to “It.” I’ve never met anyone so happy and full of joy as he watched families create cherished memories.
He had the dream job, to create fun. Who wouldn’t be smiling from ear to ear doing that job.
His legacy is etched in the laughter of children riding the Giant Wheel, the wonder in their eyes as they experience the sights and sounds of Morey’s Piers.
His contributions to the amusement industry and his unwavering commitment to enhancing visitors’ joy and experiences will be remembered forever.
Our hearts go out to the Morey family during this difficult time. We grieve alongside them, feeling the void left by Jack’s departure.
Jack’s legacy will live on through the smiles and laughter he inspired in all of us.
