Raila being officially on Ruto’s side, Gen Z face a new obstacle

0

The first one is for Raila’s die hard followers swallowing the bitter pill and accepting that a man they’ve respected and idolized since childhood is a traitor and opportunist. That won’t be easy. They will get into denial mode and make excuses for it. They will try to say he has good reasons and is doing it for the nation.
But NO. Raila Odinga saw an opportunity and decided to use the blood shed by Kenyan Youths for his own political gain.

Odinga’s goons aren’t a threat to Gen Z; His died hard followers not accepting the reality is the real threat that will cause division in the movement.
I hope and pray we all open our eyes and see these politicians for who they are.

The other issue that could kill the movement is lack of well documented demands.

We started with the finance bill.
Ruto refused to sign and is now using back doors to sneak it into law.

We demanded sacking of the cabinet and IG, Ruto did it and is now planning to recycle his old political friends to crash the movement.

Most of the people outside social media esp6 TikTok and X don’t see this.
They see Ruto as listening and humble President who is doing as requested.

They have now started seeing Gen Z as a group of rebellious youths who have been paid to destabilise our country.

“Si Ruto alifanya vile walikuwa wanataka ? Mbona tena wanademonstrate? Hawa sasa wamelipwa’, they say.

This is the reason as to why Rutos administration wants to control the media. If not careful, the demonstrations will only make Ruto more popular out there by appearing as the victim.

RutoMustGo isn’t enough. They must clearly put why #RutoMustGo.

Movement must have clear and well written demands on our banners.

Further, if they lack strategy and fail to hit where it hurts the most, the message won’t get home. You need to have a strategy to make sure our protest aren’t Nairobi based but happening all over the counties. Must also be very strategic in the areas we set to occupy.

Other than that, they must also get a way to differentiate themselves from goons. They could have a road that we will follow, maybe have a dress code , maybe have silent demonstrations, whatever it takes to be different from the hired goons.
Resist appearing violent!

Lastly,

Let’s put more sense and less emotions on our spaces and rallies. Emotions will do little to help Gen Z achieve the goals. We must be calm, collected and sobber in our X spaces and media interviews.
