President Hichilema Receives Progress Report On Implementation Of The Mopani Mine Investment

President Hichilema writes;

“We received the progress made so far in implementation of the Mopani Mine investment by International Resources Holding (IRH) of the United Arab Emirates led by their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ali Alrashdi, Charles Sakanya the Mopani Mine CEO and Kenny Muyangwa the Board Chairperson of ZCCM-IH this afternoon at State House.

We are proud with the rapid transformation, innovation and technological advances they are making in revamping the mining giant since we handed it to them six months ago.

This project is a joint venture between the ZCCM-IH and IRC of the United Arab Emirates which has so far proved very successful going by the increased production figures, additional jobs, and corporate social responsibilities activities they have started on the Copperbelt.

We urged them to keep prioritising Zambian citizens in job opportunities, supplying and mine contractors to improve the economic activities in the Copperbelt and in Zambia as a whole.

We are also determined to invest in value addition activities for our minerals and other resources for job creation purposes.”
