Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest individual, has clarified that his residence in Abuja is a rented apartment, debunking assumptions that it is his personal property. During a media engagement at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos, Dangote attributed his decision to not own houses outside Nigeria to his unwavering commitment to the country’s industrialization. He revealed that he previously owned a London residence, which he sold in 1996 to focus on his Nigerian endeavors.
Dangote emphasized his passion for the Nigerian dream, stating that his dedication to the country’s development motivates him to prioritize his industrial pursuits over personal interests. He noted that owning properties abroad could distract him from his goals, and thus, he has chosen to concentrate on his Nigerian ventures.
