Details Of Rigathi Gachagua’s Demand To Ruto Ahead Of Cabinet Selection On Friday

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has written a letter to President William Ruto this afternoon, outlining four key demands for the new cabinet set to be named on Friday. In a bold move, Gachagua has insisted that half of the cabinet positions should be allocated to the Mt. Kenya region.

The second demand that Gachagua made is that no minister from the previous administration should be reinstated. He argued that Kenyans showed no confidence and trust in them.

The third demand is that Gachagua has called for the inclusion of more women in the cabinet to promote gender equality and empowerment.

Lastly, Gachagua has demanded that all cabinet appointments be made based on merit and professional qualifications rather than political affiliations.

Gachagua stressed the importance of having a competent and effective team to drive the country’s development agenda and restore public trust in Ruto’s government.
