Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to be actively working to impede a possible alliance between Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, particularly by opposing Odinga’s potential appointment as the Chairperson of the Africa Union Commission (AUC).

Sources from both the government and Odinga’s camp, as reported by a local media house, indicate that Kenyatta is lobbying for Odinga to abandon the AUC role, suggesting that he should prioritize national politics and shift his trajectory away from international duties which risk diminishing his impact within Kenya.
