Update: Rigathi Gachagua Warns County Commissioners If They Do This

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has warned county commissioners and security teams that they will be held accountable if they do not do what is expected of them. Speaking in Kirinyaga County on Saturday, the DP told county commissioners not to engage in any unlawful activity on the pretext of ‘orders from above.’

“The days of orders from above ended. Do not allow anyone to tell you that they have talked to the CS. Do not listen to them,” he said.

The DP had joined the faithful of Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) at Mwea Cathedral, Kirinyaga County, for the Consecration and Installation of Kirinyaga Regional Bishop Samuel Karimi alongside the ordination of 33 Reverends, presided over by Bishop Dr John Okinda.

The DP said county commissioners and security teams need to play a leading role in the war against illicit alcohol.

“If a person has given you an order on the phone to the effect that the war against illicit alcohol has been stopped, demand that they write to you a letter,” he advised.

“Do not let anybody call you, saying they are an MP and they have spoken to the Cabinet Secretary. The fight against illicit alcohol will be won and the President is resolute about it,” he added.
