KAMANGA Praises Under-17 Girls’ Efforts At World Cup

Football Association of Zambia President, Andrew Kamanga, has expressed satisfaction with the Under-17 Girls National team’s performance at the ongoing World Cup in the Dominican Republic, despite losing their first two group games.

Kamanga noted that, despite the disappointing results, the team has significant potential and can build on their World Cup experience, highlighting that they only lacked the cutting edge in front of goal.

In his weekly football reflections, Kamanga reaffirmed FAZ’s commitment to developing youth talent, a key aspect of the Association’s 10-year strategic plan aimed at elevating national teams to the global stage.

He emphasized that this commitment has become a habit, with various national teams regularly participating in major international events like the Africa Cup of Nations, Olympics, and World Cups.

The Copper Princesses were eliminated from the Under-17 World Cup after a 2-0 loss to Poland on Monday, despite dominating play.

They had previously lost their opening match to Brazil 1-0, with their final fixture against Japan scheduled for October 23.
