Businessman Joshua Karianjahi Waiganjo who shot into public limelight in 2013 for impersonating a senior police officer has filed an affidavit seeking to have his name removed from the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Waiganjo claims to be the majority shareholder of Morani Manufacturers Limited, which has been implicated in allegations of Ksh 5.2 billion wealth accumulation linked to DP Gachagua.

In his affidavit, Waiganjo claims to be the majority shareholder of Morani Manufacturers, stating he holds 600 shares, having sold 200 each to Gachagua’s wife, Dorcas Wanjiku Rigathi, and their son, Keith Ikinu Rigathi, prior to Gachagua’s appointment as Deputy President in September 2022.

He insists that the company has only conducted one transaction since its registration in 2021, involving the sale of pig feed worth Ksh 132,000.

Waiganjo’s legal team has filed documents to remove both his name and that of Morani Manufacturers from the impeachment proceedings, arguing that the company has been unfairly implicated in political disputes.

He maintains that he is the sole director of the company which currently holds a mere Ksh 2,442 in its bank account.
