You donβt have to like someone to respect death. You donβt have to agree with how they lived to have compassion for those they left behind.
Today it is Wicknell. Tomorrow, none of us knows whose name will be announced. Death is a road we will all travel β rich or poor, loved or hated.
Never laugh too loudly at another personβs grave, because life has never promised any of us tomorrow.
May God teach us compassion while we still have time.
Someone asked why are you pained as if you received anything from him ? The answer is you are right I never received money or a car from him but ,
When I came out of prison, Sir Wicknell called me just to do a welfare check on me. He asked me how I was doing and told me that he would call me to his office. That call never came.
At some point I even called Sonja and said, βYour hubby called me and said he wanted to see me, but now he has gone quiet.β Sonja spoke to me and lectured me about certain things, and life simply moved on.
But today, none of that is the point.
The point is that this man took a moment out of his life to check if I was okay during one of the lowest and most difficult chapters of my life. And for that, Sir Wicknell, I want to say THANK YOU.
I also choose to remember the good you did for so many people. You blessed people. You changed some peopleβs situations. You gave when you could have chosen not to give. Whatever people may say about you, I am not God, and therefore I will never sit in Godβs chair and judge another human being.
Today I am reminded just how temporary this life is.
One day, it will be me. One day, it will be you. None of us knows the day, the hour or the manner in which we will leave this earth. The money, the cars, the houses, the arguments, the grudges, the social-media fights, the pride β one day we leave all of it behind.
Sir Wicknell, I pray that God, in His infinite mercy, receives you with mercy. May He also receive your wife, Lulu, and comfort your children, your families, friends and everyone whose heart is broken by this tragedy.
Your passing has reminded me that death does not make appointments.
Today we are here. Tomorrow is promised to no one.
May God have mercy on all of us when our own day comes.
Rest in peace Sir Wicknell.
Rest in peace Lulu. ποΈποΈ
May your souls rest in eternal peace.
