Jordan has reinforced its air-defence posture around military facilities following Iranβs missile strikes targeting U.S.-linked bases in the kingdom.
The Jordanian Armed Forces said its air-defence systems intercepted eight Iranian missiles that entered Jordanian airspace during the latest attack. There have been no reports of additional fatalities at the U.S. bases.
The Iranian attack targeted King Hussein Air Base and Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Al-Azraq, facilities used by U.S. forces in Jordan.
Jordan and U.S. forces remain on heightened alert as Tehran has warned that it will respond to further American attacks. The latest exchange followed the U.S. strike on Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz.
The situation around the two bases remains closely monitored, with regional air-defence forces maintaining elevated readiness as the risk of further Iranian missile and drone attacks remains high.
