- Throw-ins will now have a five-second countdown. If a player delays too much, the throw-in can be given to the other team.
- Goalkeepers also have five seconds to take goal-kicks. Deliberately wasting time could lead to a corner being awarded to the opposition.
- Substituted players must leave the pitch within 10 seconds using the nearest exit. If they delay, the replacement cannot enter for one minute and the team will temporarily play with 10 men.
- Players receiving treatment from the physio must stay off the pitch for at least one minute before returning, except in certain situations like serious injuries or goalkeeper incidents.
- Players who cover their mouths during confrontations with opponents could now receive a red card.
- VAR can now quickly review wrongly awarded corners before play restarts, but this rule does not apply to goal-kicks.
- Second yellow cards can also be reviewed after a player is sent off, although referees still cannot use VAR to check possible second yellow incidents before giving them.
