Iranian State TV has finally announced the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

“With intense sorrow and great pride, and as a result of the unprecedented American-Zionist aggression”

Iran also announced 40 days of nationwide mourning and 7 days of public holiday in honor of the Supreme Leader.

Based on the sacred principles of Islam, according to the teachings of Wilayat Al-Faqih as layed out by Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, and according to the constitution of the Islamic Republic, the process to elect a new Supreme Leader will commence today.

His daughter, son-in-law, grandchild and a daughter-in-law were also killed in the same attack.
