The Crazy Story Of Elvis Chepkosa

Kenyan SIMSWAP kingpin who vanished after fleecing millions

WELCOME BACK.

As Kelvin Kiplangat, famously known as Elvis Chepkosa, sat pretty recording a TikTok along Mombasa Road on Nov 5th, 2024, mans was floating.

Why?

Because he was LOADED loaded.

At just 31, Elvis had already finished building a palatial home—no mortgage, no bank stress, no “approval pending.”
Pure cash business.

That house was a loud statement.
From a small-town dropout in Chepkosa, Chepalungu, to a certified young king whose name was casually being dropped in Kalenjin bangers for sponsoring artists.

Life ilikuwa imekubali.

But as he zoomed off toward Bomet with his right-hand man and childhood friend Dominic Kipngeno aka Muge, he had no idea this was their last public sighting.

Because once their hired Prado TX hit Lari, Kiambu County…

Bullets flew💥

Unknown men who had been tailing them opened fire, forcing the car to a violent stop.

Within minutes, the two were abducted.

To date?
No bodies. No sightings. No answers.

So how did it get here?

Let’s rewind.

Elvis Chepkosa was born and raised in Chepkosa, Chepalungu.
A kawaida village boy.

He went to school up to Form 2, then alisema “acha niingie life.”

Books didn’t stick.
Tanakali za sauti hazikumconvince.

So he did what most village boys do—
Til the land, herd cattle, push life pole pole.

A good African son.

But as the years passed, reality slapped.
Hard work, zero money.
Dreams bigger than the village.

So Elvis went looking for work and landed a job as an M-Pesa agent in Sigor town.
No papers. Just hustle.

That job?

Changed his life forever.

In 2014, on a random day, he met his Destiny Connector.

Enter: Hillary Matindwet, also known as David Mutai.

A seasoned conman fresh out of Naivasha Maximum Prison, where he’d served time for impersonation.

David walked into the shop withdrawing crazy amounts of cash like ilikuwa normal business.

Elvis noticed.

And one day, akauliza politely:

“Davie bana… nifunze hii game.”

That one sentence birthed what later became known as the Mulot Gang.

David introduced Elvis to Vishing—
A scam where you call victims pretending to be Safaricom, Airtel, or bank officials, manipulate them into giving up PINs, then clean them out.

David had perfected the craft inside prison.
And timing was perfect—Kenya ilikuwa inaanza digital life, watu hawakuwa tech-savvy bado.

So with a hungry protégé beside him, they went to work.

And work they did.

Soon, reports flooded police stations and social media.
People waking up broke, confused, money gone like magic.

Meanwhile?

Elvis alikuwa anakula life.

First sign of kuomoka?
At 22, he built a house back home.

Then, like a chess grandmaster, he unlocked the two most important village cheat codes:

1) A motorcycle
2) Designer clothes

Game over.

Baddies wa ocha walikuwa wengi.
Mamorio hakubahatisha.

He sponsored events, bought rounds for everyone, rolled with local artists—
Kenene International loved his presence because drinks were always sorted.

Money was loud.
Too loud.

Peers started asking for radar.
“How do you people eat like this?”

That’s when Elvis opened SIMSWAP UNIVERSITY at his crib.

“Cake ni kubwa. Kila mtu kula.”

Among his first recruits was his best friend Muge—
Unlike Elvis who tried to stay lowkey, Muge alikuwa full exhibition mode.

Drinks.
Clothes.
Cars.
Life ilikuwa movie.

Soon, Elvis’ name started appearing in songs.
Fame crept in.
Influencer vibes kicked.

Naturally, ambition grew.

By 2022, Elvis—and mentor David—both decided to enter politics.

Worst. Decision. Ever.

Politics comes with light.
Light brings scrutiny.

Rumors started flying from political opponents, and DCI took interest.

In December 2022, they finally slipped.

They siphoned Ksh 941,000 from an MP who was abroad.

That one mistake blew the whole operation open.

Pandora’s box opened.

Suddenly, many SIMSWAP cases across the country had faces.

They were arrested…
Then mysteriously released after some hands were oiled.

Operations moved to Nairobi, but cops were already breathing down their necks.

They were rearrested—this time for robbery with violence.

Released again.

And that?

Sealed their fate.

A few months later, they were abducted.
No official explanation.
Parents admitted walikuwa na makosa.

And just like that…

The SIMSWAP kings vanished.

No closure.
No justice.
Just silence.

THE END… OR IS IT?
