Victor Osimhen has been accused by Turkish media of intentionally getting a yellow card during Galatasaray’s 4-1 win over Antalyaspor to serve a suspension while on international duty with Nigeriaβs Super Eagles.
The Nigerian striker was already at risk of suspension before Saturdayβs game, having received yellow cards against BeΕiktaΕ, Kocaelispor, and FenerbahΓ§e. He faced a ban for any further bookings.
Osimhen received a yellow card in the 85th minute for pulling an opponentβs shirt, leading to an automatic one-match suspension. He will miss Galatasaray’s upcoming league match against KasΔ±mpaΕa.
According to Turkish outlet Gazete GerΓ§ek, he may be referred to the Turkish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee for allegedly βdeliberately receiving a yellow card.β
The committee’s rules state that a player found to have intentionally received a yellow or red card to avoid matches may face a two-match ban.
