Victor Osimhen Has Been Accused By Turkish Media Of Intentionally Getting A Yellow Card During Galatasaray’s 4-1

Victor Osimhen has been accused by Turkish media of intentionally getting a yellow card during Galatasaray’s 4-1 win over Antalyaspor to serve a suspension while on international duty with Nigeriaโ€™s Super Eagles.

The Nigerian striker was already at risk of suspension before Saturdayโ€™s game, having received yellow cards against BeลŸiktaลŸ, Kocaelispor, and Fenerbahรงe. He faced a ban for any further bookings.

Osimhen received a yellow card in the 85th minute for pulling an opponentโ€™s shirt, leading to an automatic one-match suspension. He will miss Galatasaray’s upcoming league match against KasฤฑmpaลŸa.

According to Turkish outlet Gazete Gerรงek, he may be referred to the Turkish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee for allegedly โ€œdeliberately receiving a yellow card.โ€

The committee’s rules state that a player found to have intentionally received a yellow or red card to avoid matches may face a two-match ban.
