Security forces deployed to inspect homes for illegal weapons in Juba’s Gudele suburb have been accused of stealing millions of South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) from a civilian during a house search.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim was forced out of his house while the officers conducted the search alone contrary to standard procedures meant to ensure transparency. Residents now express growing fear, saying the operation has turned into a threat to civilians, with reports of insults, intimidation, and unlawful entry by the forces.
