Crazy World: Meet A Kenyan man who killed children and allegedly drank their blood

Masten Milimu Wanjala, infamously dubbed Kenyaโ€™s โ€œbloodthirsty vampire,โ€ was a self-confessed serial killer who admitted to murdering at least ten children between 2016 and 2021. Born around 2001 in Bungoma County, Wanjala lured his young victims mostly boys aged 12 to 13, by pretending to be a football coach.

Once he gained their trust, he would drug them, strangle them, or hit them with blunt objects. In some gruesome cases, he reportedly drank their blood, a claim that horrified the nation and earned him his chilling nickname. After his arrest in July 2021, Wanjala led detectives to multiple sites where he had dumped the bodies.

However, in October that same year, he escaped from Jogoo Road Police Station in Nairobi under mysterious circumstances, allegedly taking advantage of curfew chaos and lax security.

Two days later, residents in his home village of Mukhweya in Bungoma recognised him and lynched him before police could intervene.

His death ended one of Kenyaโ€™s most shocking crime sagas, but it left many families heartbroken and without full justice, as the motives behind his killing spree were never conclusively explained.
