Naivas supermarket shut, Quickmatt supermarket shut And the Absa ATM that was vandalized and millions carted away.
The most painful part is that of the small businesses in Sunbeam. This was my favorite place to buy perfumes, and my heart goes out to the beautiful lady who used to open her shop as early as 5.30 am to serve people travelling in the shuttles that park there.
I can imagine the pain she is going through. The elderly tailor upstairs died during the inferno, since he couldn’t leap like other young men when escaping the fire..
But the worst thing is that those who fueled this all are now trying to blame others.
Do you think we would be here if we all spoke in one voice to denounce the illegal ways of expressing dissatisfaction?
Yes, there are people who strongly feel and believe that President Ruto is on the wrong path..there are people who believe that the Kenya Kwanza regime is clueless and confused…
It is within your democratic right to believe that. That is your choice and your right to do that is enshrined in the Constitution..
But if you decide to do illegal things like what we saw in June.. That is where the responsibility lies….
If you are on social media.. And in one way or another, you encouraged, promoted, praised or even funded the illegal activities, that resulted in this, you are also part of the problem and the blood, pain and tears are on your hands…
You may divert attention by blaming the police, you may convince yourself with the lie that Ruto is the one who sent goons.. But deep down, if you all spoke against illegal means of expression, nothing of the sort could have happened….
