Heavy security has been deployed in Eldoret amid fears of Gen Zs protests.

A convoy of more than 18 land rovers and lorries have been patrolling the streets to ensure tight security.

A section of businesses remained closed following fears the security teams may clash with protestors.

However, the town remained calm as Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii came out to speak on the protests for the first time.

He said the government was working to restore normalcy and address concerns raised by the Gen Zs.
