Photos: Anti-Ruto Chants Continue Near Ambassador Building As Heavy Security Arrive In CBD
Pockets of youths have gathered in the downtown Nairobi as police tighten security ahead of the anti-government protests. This even as most shops closed amid clear roads in the Central business district. A spot check by the Star shows that several protesters have gathered near the Ambassador building as they chant anti-Ruto slogans. The police immediately threw tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.
Meanwhile, several streets including Moi Avenue, Tom Mboya, Luthuli Avenue and Kenneth Matiba Avenue have reduced activity as shops are closed.
