Maj-Gen Fatuma Gaiti Ahmed first made history in 2015 when former President Uhuru Kenyatta promoted her to the rank of Brigadier, becoming the first woman in Kenya to hold that rank.

Today, she has once again made history, after President William Ruto appointing her as the Kenya Airforce Commander. She becomes the first woman in KDF to get the rank of Major General

Let me quote something @wahomethuku wrote. For this one, it means that if Kenya went to war that needed air strikes, she would be the one fully incharge of that onslaught and would take lead in laying out strategies and planning logistics for the sky attacks. She would be the one to clear pilots to hit and order them to abort mission and retreat to base.
